Worker gets electrocuted due to live wire

Uppinangady: A worker seated in a borewell rig got electrocuted after coming in contact with live wire. This tragedy occurred late night on Wednesday April 22 at Pulittadi near Uppinangady in the taluk.


Shivakumar (34), a worker hired by the owners of the borewell rig, was seated in the vehicle that was returning after digging borewell in the house of Monu in Pulittadi. On the way, Shivakumar saw power lines dangling low at a spot. He was trying to keep the wires away to avoid the truck from coming in contact with them. He was instantly electrocuted during this effort.

Shivakumar was from Namakkal in Tamil Nadu. A report relating to the accident was filed in Uppinangady police station by the contractor who had taken up the task of digging the borewell.
