Udupi: Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Kallianpur Deanery level workshop on Government facilities to Minorities was held at Mount Rosary Church Mini Hall Santhekatte, Kallianpur on Sunday 31st August, 2014. Hubert Lewis President of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Deanery presided over the workshop.

Smt. Veronica Cornelio, Taluk Panchayat member and President of Mahila Congress Udupi district and Smt. Meena Pinto President of Tenkanidiyoor Grama Panchayat were the resource persons. Among others present on the dais were Valerian Fernandes Vice President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Rosy Baretto Secretary of Catholic Sabha Kallianpur Deanery and Jyothi Lewis Convener of the program.

The much needed workshop on government facilities to minorities was held with tremendous response from the eights parishes of the deanery. We have so many facilities and benefits available from both central and state governments but in the absence of proper knowledge, majority of our community are not able to get the same. Under the leadership of Catholic Sabha of the diocese, our community had been eagerly asked to take advantage of various schemes, scholarships, retirement benefits, widow pension and other old age pensions and so many other benefits available to the reasonable persons.
