Workshop on Consumer Awareness at SPC Puttur

Puttur: The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of DK District, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Department of Legal Meteorology, District Federation of Consumer Organizations, Department of Women and Child Development and Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College Puttur will jointly organize one day workshop on Consumer Awareness on 17-12-2015 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall of the College.

 

Mrs. Asha Shety, President, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum will inaugurate the workshop and Mr. B A Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner of D K District will preside. Mrs. P I Srividya, Chief Executive Officer, DKZP, Mr. M J Salian, President, D K District Federation of Consumer Organisations and Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director, St Philomena College will participate as chief guests.

In technical sessions, Mr. Sundara Poojari, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Development will speak on Awareness on Harassment of Children and women, Mr. Timmarayappa, Assistant Controller, Legal Meteorology will speak on False Weights and Measurements, Dr. Nityananda Pai of Puttur will deliver a talk on Misleading Advertisements and Mr. Raghavendra Rao, Advocate, Surathkal will present on the topic Awareness of Women Consumers.

The members of selected Stree Shakthi Groups of D K District will participate as delegates in this workshop.
