World Population Day Observed at Crossland College

Brahmavar: On the occasion of the World Population day on 11th July, the department of Social Sciences of Crossland College organized a special programme to spread awareness about the need to control population growth among students.

In the beginning, Dr. Robert Clive G explained the theme of this year’s World population day “Family Planning is a Human Right”. Later, Ms.Wafa Mohd Quasim,II B.A made an interesting presentation with the help of PowerPoint presentation and videos on the issue of over population, its negative effects and the various methods of family planning in order to control the population. Ms. Sowjanya Raju Poojary,II BA and Mr Arun,III BA delivered their messages on the occasion by highlighting the population statistics world over and in India and appealed to the fellow students spread the message of population control and family planning.

Followed by this a group of students presented a meaningful mime with the message of having a small family. The programme concluded with the concluding remark by the principal of the college Prof. Samuel k Samuel. He complimented the students for organizing a very useful programme.In his remarks he appealed to the students to start the change of creating an awareness about the dangers of over population and becoming aware the population control measures.

The head of the department of Social Sciences Prof. ( Mrs.) Reebu Samuel was present for the programme. Ms. Archana Somanath Nairy welcomed the gathering and Mr. Devraj proposed the vote of thanks.

The department of Social Sciences at Crossland College organized a special programme on the occasion of World Population Day on 11th July 2019.Ms. Archana welcome the gathering. Ms. Wafa made presentation on the theme highlighting the causes and effects of the rapid growth of population. She appealed to the audience to create awareness about the need of controlling the population growth.

On the occasion a quiz programme was conducted among students on matters related to world population day and family planning. A debate was also held with the question “Is Population control necessary?”. Dr. Robert Clive G thanked the students for organizing the programme.
