Mangaluru, (The Hindu): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Wednesday that there is a conspiracy against Sanatan Dharma in Kerala. “One can see it in Kerala through the actions of the Communist Party of India (Marxists),” he said.

Addressing a gathering at Kadali (Kadri) Yogeshwar (Jogi) Mutt, in front of the Kadri Park here, where he stayed for the night after returning from the Janaraksha Yatra in Kerala, he said that the neighbouring State was the land of Adi Sankaracharya and Narayana Guru and now the land of Mata Amritanandamayi.

Calling Mangaluru as a sacred land, he said that Adi Sankaracharya travelled from the South to the North via Mangaluru, and Gorakhnath, the founder of the Nath panth, travelled from the North to the South via the coastal area.

He asked people in Mangaluru to join hands for the development of the country and said that religious leaders would take care of Sanatan Dharma.

The Chief Minister recalled the centuries-old association of the Nath sect with Mangaluru which has the Yogeshwar Mutt and other Nath sect temples.

Mr. Adityanath travelled to Kerala via Mangaluru on Tuesday night. He would return to his State from Mangaluru on Thursday morning.
