Youth Congress leaders tender mass resignation

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Youth Congress leaders and membersdecided to tender mass resignations after Youth Congress president Mithun Rai missed the ticket from Moodbidri constituency.

The Youth Congress leaders alleged that AICC president Rahul Gandhi had earlier promised to ensure tickets to youths. "Many youths had joined the Congress after Rahul Gandhi who is young and energetic took charge as the party president. But the recent developments wherein senior leader Abhaychandra Jain was issued the Moodbidri ticket has hurt us. We were expecting the ticket for our youth leader Mithun Rai."

They further said that Abhaychandra had promised to vacate the seat three years ago. Following his decison, Mithun had canvassed in Moodbidri for the last three years and undertaken developmental activities, they said.

Youth Congress leaders from Puttur block, Mangaluru South and North, Beltangady, Bantwal among others have decided to tender their resignations. The members also alleged that they were unable to reach Mithun Rai.
