iDiDe 2018 studio inaugurated at faculty of Architecture MAHE

Udupi: iDiDe 2018, an international design studio was inaugurated at faculty of Architecture MAHE here on Thursday, January 11.

This design studio with transcultural themed agenda is being held in collaboration with Deakin University, Australia and IIUM Malaysia. The studio will come out with the sustainable design proposal of Anganwadi, mother and child care centre at Ajjarkad, Udupi.

Dr Narayan Sabhahit, registrar, MAHE was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr N Udupa, director-research, Health Sciences, MAHE, Susan Ang, senior lecturer and founder of iDiDe, Deakin University, Australia and Prof Nishant H Manapure, director, FOA were present at the inauguration.

In his address, Dr Sabhahit emphasized on the interdependence of engineers and architects while Prof Nishant H Manapure mentioned about the importance of bringing sensibility to any designintent. Susan Ang shared her experiences from the past iDiDe design studios. iDiDe studio focusses on social outreach projects on the basis of three pillars, Culture, Collaboration and Contribution.
