Mumbai, Jul 2 (PTI) Superstar Shah Rukh Khan got emotional about his mother, Latif Fatima Khan, on her 74th birth anniversary today.

The 49-year-old "Chennai Express" star took to Twitter to share a picture of her and joked he would have been slapped by her for revealing her age, had she been alive today.

"She would be 74 years today and I would be slapped for telling her age... it's a happy day today," he captioned the photo.

Shah Rukh's mother died in 1991 from complications of diabetes, just a year before he made his big-screen debut.

The actor is currently working on Rohit Shetty's "Dilwale", which also stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, and Vinod Khanna.

The film hits theatres on December 18.
