Patna (Indian Express): If trends at 11 am are to be believed, Bihar has voted and they’ve voted decisively. The verdict is in favour of the Mahagatbhandan with Lalu Prasad’s RJD powering the alliance to over 140 seats (leads) according to data that’s available for now.
Early morning trends had shown the NDA taking a significant lead, but the JD(U) was quick to catch up once counting shifted from postal ballots to electronic voting machine votes.
As of 11.20 am, the BJP was leading in 59 seats while the JD(U) and RJD are leading in 57 seats each.
The halfway mark in the 243 member house is 122.
The campaign saw hostilities from both sides and were led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the NDA and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the Grand Alliance.
Counting of votes began at 8 am this morning. The first trends are in and the BJP has taken the lead
