Banks give security for savings: Sharada IPS

Mumbai, May 30: The 17th branch of Model Co-operative bank, “The Excellent bank” award winner from The Maharashtra Satate Co-operative Bank’s Association and the Brihan Mumbai Nagari Sahakari Banks was inaugurated on Saturday morning at Ramshree Varma Complex, opposit Girish Nagar, Palghar (W).

Albert W D’souza-the executive president presided over the inaugural function, Rev. Fr.James D’silva – the chief parish priest of Nativity Church of Palghar performed the religious rituals and blessed. Sharada Rauth (IPS), Superintendent of police of Phalghar district inaugurated the branch by cutting the ribbon.

 During the inaugural function, Rajendra Gavith- former minister-in-charge of Maharashtra state, John D’silva-founder president of the bank, William J Sequeira-the vice executive president, Thomas D Lobo- director-in-charge, were present at the dais.

Sharada Rauth wished goodluck and said, “The reliable support of a bank is an inspiration for success. People endeavor for the safety of their future. Banks give security for their income and savings.”

Mr. Gavith said, “Discipline and commitment are the speciality of Model bank. Any bank can achieve success through its service and impartiality. The performance of the Model Bank in the co-operative sector is enormous”.

Fr.James D’silva, Thomas Lobo and John D’silva expressed their views. Albert D’souza in his presidential speech said that, “this is the bank of middle class people and is known as the safest bank. This is one of the oldest bank among all other nationalized banks. The self-confidence of the managing committee and employees’ transparent service are the key reasons behind the success of the bank”.

During the occasion, directors Benedicta B Rebello, Vincent Mathais, Paul Nazareth, Sanjay Shindhe, Advocate Piyus Vaz, Marita D’mello, Abraham Clement Lobo, Jayanthilal Shapariya, Elvina A D’souza, Jecintha V Sequeira, Advocate Anand Naghe, Mahendra Khale and Chandrakanth Patil, customers, friends and well wishers were present.

The Managing director and CEO William L D’souza and Additional General Manager Herold M Serao honored the guests by bouquets. Daina Fernandis read the Bible. Edward Raskinha compered the programme. Mr Bharath Deherkar-the branch manager of Palghar (W) proposed the vote of thanks.
