38th National Masters Athletic Champions-2018 : Surekha Hemanth Devadiga Won Silver Medal

Mumbai, Apr. 16: The Indian master’s athletics ‘38th National masters athletics championship-2018’ competition was organized by Karnataka masters athletics association in collaboration with Dakshina Kannada master’s athletic association.

The competition was being held since Thursday (Apr 12th) in Mangala stadium, Mangalore. The student of Mumbai University Kannada department- Surekha Hemanth Devadiga participated in the High jump event and won silver medal.

Surekha, who represented the Maharashtra state at the Athletic Championships Competition won bronze medal in the 100 meter relay and 400 meter relay.

Surekha is the daughter of Muchuru Sundara Devadiga and Sindhu S. Devadiga. She is resident of Worli, Dadar West. She is pursuing M.phil under the guidance of Dr G. N. Upadhya- the head of Kannada department in Mumbai University. The study is about ‘The cultural study of Devadiga community’. She is serving as the deputy secretary of Devadiga association women’s wing, Mumbai and she is one of the most talented athletes.
