7TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING CONDUCTED BY KANNADIGA PATHRAKARTHARA SANGHA MAHARASHTRA
MEMBERS TO HAVE OWN LAND IS THE PLAN OF THE ASSOCIATION: PALETHADY

Mumbai, August 31: The 7th annual general meeting of Kannadiga Pathrakarthara Sangha Maharashtra was held on Sunday at Samarasa Bhavana of Karnataka Sangha Mumbai at Matunga (W) under the presidentship of Chandrashekhar Palethady, the President of the association.

“The achievements of the association during 6 years might be great, but still we need to achieve many things. We should focus our attention towards having land for the members. If we get more suggestions from the members, it will be possible for us to manage it easily. If all the people have a feeling of unity, our association will think about the plan of having own land for its members”, said Palethady.

In his presidential address, he said, “The first ever All India Journalist conference held in April by the association is a sample for the nation. It shows the relationship between Marati-Kannadigas. It shows the harmonious life of Kannada-Marati people and encourages many institutions too. The association strives hard in various strata and achieves best results. The unique services of the association’s founder Rons Bantwal are highly commendable”.

The process of selecting 15 members for the Executive Committee of the association for the year 2015-2018 was held. As the election officer, lawyer Kadandhale Parari Prakash L Shetty announced the list of selected members: Chandrashekhara Palethady, Rons Bantwal, Daya Sagar Chowta, Harish K Hejamady, Premanath B Shetty Mundkuru, Babu K Belchada, Ashok S Suvarna, Shyam M Hande, Mrs. Sujhan L Kuwello, Janardhana S Puria, Gurudutt S Poonja Mundkuru, Dinesh Shetty Renjala, Vishwanath V Poojary Niddody, Jaya C Poojary and Shiva M Moodikere.

Lawyer Prakash Shetty said, “The notable achievements of the Pathrakarthara Sangha during the short period of 5-6 years are really commendable. The well-being of the members is the main objective of the association and the current committee has the potential to fulfil it. Let Pathrakarthara Bhavana actively engage in improving the economic status, interest on well-being, etc. and lead with the dreamy broad projects of the association and have a bright future”.

Rons Bantwal, the Founder and the Hon. Chief Secretary of the association welcomed the gathering and informed about the growth and achievements of the association and said, “Our association which conducted All India Journalists Conference has got accreditation throughout the nation. By removing lack of active participation of the members, we will be developing the association and will strive hard for the progress of the members. With the harmonious co-operation of all the members, our dream of having health care benefits will become true very soon”.

Well-known Chartered Accountant of the city CA| I R Shetty & Co. has been reappointed as the auditors of the association for the year 2015-18. On behalf of the gathered members, Janardhana Rai Puria, Doddaiah R Salian, Premananda R Kukian, Dr. Dinesh Shetty Renjala delivered speeches in appreciation of the achievements of the association and wished goodluck to have bright future.

Palethady, the President honoured by offering flower bouquets to the election officer - lawyer Prakash L Shetty, Karnataka Madhyama Academy award winner for the year 2014 - Rons Bantwal and Tara Bantwal couple, Doctorate holder Dr. Dinesh Shetty Renjala, great achievers – Shiva M Moodigere, Dr. Shivarama K Bhandary, Suresh Shetty Yeyyadi and the dignitaries who extended their co-operation for the success of the association. He also thanked CA| IR Shetty and his partner CA| Ulthooruguthu Shankar M Shetty who has been providing unique and free services as chartered accountants.

Silent prayer was offered in the beginning of the programme in fond remembrance of all the senior-junior journalists who departed last year. The Joint Secretary – Premanath Shetty Mundkuru explained about last year’s report of annual general meeting. The Hon. Treasurer – J P Kusuma submitted last year’s balance sheet. The executive member – Babu K Belchada recited the annual report. The Vice President – Dayasagar Chouwta informed about the members. The executive member – Shyama M Hande proposed the vote of thanks.
