A good life is possible from literature: Gurudevananda Swamiji

Mangaluru (Vitla), Feb. 17: People who have dedicated their life to save Tulu should come forward. Literature should always be kept live. Good life is possible by unifying various literatures of unique value-said Sri Gurudevanand of Odiyuru Shri Gurudevadatta Samsthana.

He was giving blessings in the valedictory ceremony of Children’s Tulu Sahitya Sammelana-2016 held at Nadoja Kayyara Kinjanna Rai stage of Sri Gurudevadatta Samsthana, Odiyuru on Tuesday.

He said-Literature is saved in the minds of people when it is written in book format. This is the beginning of literature work. Children should be exposed to many opportunities to sharpen their intelligence. Literature has unique power. Life should be like a continuous flow of water. Tulu study centre will be set by the next Tulunadu Fair.

Sadhvi Shri Matanandamayi gave blessings and said-There should be continuous efforts to save Tulu language. Our culture is protected when the people at our homes encourage to save the culture of Tulunadu along with agriculture. The discussion between children and elders will help to release good ideas. The future generation should protect and take continuous care of Tulu language.

Dr.Vasanth Kumar Perla – the chief convenor of Tulu Sahitya Sammelana welcome committee said in his speech during the closing ceremony that the art in a student is developed when they get right encouragement. The students showed their talent in literature beyond their capacity.

Tulu Yakshagana ‘Devu Pooja’ was exhibited by Bayaru Shri Panchaligeshwara Kalavrunda and artists of Pudar Padeyi Yakshagana.

Thammayya Bantwal – retired Tahsildar and writer, poetess Prof. D Vedavathi who gave their contribution to develop and save Tulu language were honoured. Shravya Shetty Kodlamogaru, Malar Jayaram Rai –the President of Odiyoor Tulu koota were present on the occasion.

Subramanya Odiyoor welcomed the gathering. Jayaprakash Shetty – the teacher of Shri Gurudeva Vidyapeetam and Kavyalakshmi introduced those who received the honour. Ganapathi Bhat Seraje – the convener of Shri Gurudeva Vidyapeetam proposed vote of thanks. Student Latha M. Melanta compered the programme.
