All India Konkani Poetry Recital Competition in Mira Road

To encourage the young Konkani Talents and to spread Konkani Language among our children and youth St. Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association Mira Road, in association with Kavita Trust Mangalore and Ashawadi Prakashan Mumbai, organised “ All India Poetry Recital Competition 2018” on Sunday 21st October , in Infant Jesus Hall Mira Road.


Programme started with a short prayer by asst. Parish Priest Fr. Nelson Cardoza . Association President Digo Rodrigues welcomed the participants. Valley Quadros explained the rules and regulations of the competition .


About 10 participants were in the junior category, and the winners for the Final level of Mumbai division, to be held at Gyan Ashram Andheri on 25th of November 2018, were –

Jevella Mathias – First place
Angel Pinto - Second place
Linel Serrao - Third place.

Well known poets Valley Quadros and Hillary D Silva were the judges .

Henry Saldanha entertained the crowd with melodious Konkani Song.
