Annual Sports Meet Conducted by Shri Rajaka Sangha Mumbai

Mumbai, Jan 22: The Sports Wing of Shri Rajaka Sangha conducted its annual sports meet - 2015 in association with Regional Committee of East zone of the association and Yuva Rajaka by conducting various types of sports competitions on last Sunday at Dadaji Kondadev Stadium at Thane (W).

In the sports meet which was held under the organization of Harish Salian, the Vice President of the Sangha, five regional committees of Rajaka Sangha namely Dombivali, Navi Mumbai, Vasai, Western and Central committee members participated. Mr. John Mathew, the proprietor of Charms Builders and Developers was present as chief guest and inaugurated the sports meet by lighting the lamp. The President of Mulky Madiwala Sangha - Mr. Sanjeeva Madiwala, Executive President of Sports Wing – Mr. B. K Vijayanath, Vice Executive Presidents – Raju Salian, Shashank Salian, advisors of sports wing – Ashok Kundar, Umesh Salian, Santhosh Salian, senior member of Mumbai Committee – P. M Salian, Secretary - Ramesh Madiwal were present as special invitees and the advisor of Sports Wing - Anil Salian performed march-past along with athletes and sports torch.

The Presidents of Regional Committees, Executive President of Women Wing, Presidents of Yuva Rajaka and office bearers, members were present and Harish Salian, the Vice president honoured the chief guest John Mathew by offering shawl and bouquet. The President of Vasai Regional Committee - Devendra Bunnan honoured Sanjeeva Madiwala by offering flower bouquet.

Various types of sports competitions were organized for women, children and men according to their age. Running race of various distances, long jump, high jump, relay, sack race, lemon spoon race, race walking, shotput, tug of war and other competitions were conducted.

The winner Dombivali Regional Committee that bagged more number of gold, silver and bronze medals got the Champion Trophy and cash prize. The Central Regional Committee bagged second place (Runner-up) with Trophy and cash prize. Master Vyshil Shirva, Lalith Salian, Praneeth Salian, Jyothi Kundar and Shubha Gujaran showed their excellence and proved that they are excellent athletes. The Executive President of Sports Wing Mr. B.K. Vijayanatha Shetty was pleased with the talent of Master Vyshil Shirva and congratulated him by offering cash prize personally. The prizes were distributed to all the teams who won the competitions.

Vijaya Shetty and his team conducted sports competitions. Sharmila Gujaran, Anitha Kundar, Sumitha Salian, Sarojini Kundar provided information about sports. Sumithra Palimar presented overall commentary of the sports meet. Dr. Deepa Salian provided first aid assistance. Sathish Salian, the President expressed wishes. During this occasion, Sumithra Gujaran, the former president of women wing and Bhujanga Gujaran couple released the second edition of Rajaka Varthe. Ramesh Madiwal, the secretary of the Sangha presented the function and proposed the vote of thanks.
