Mumbai: CANARA KONKANI ASSOCIATION BORIVLI a registered body having over 1200 members held its 9th Annual General Body meeting on 22nd October 2015 at the St. Francis Institute of Management& Research (SFMAR) Borivali at 6.00 pm.

Mrs.Veronica Noronha welcomed the gathering and Mr. Ronald Goveas said the opening prayer. Chairman Mr. Albert W D’souza along with Mr. George D’souza, Mr. Godfrey Quadros, Mr.CharlesD’Cunha and Mr.RobertTauro being the other office bearers were invited on the dais to conduct the meeting.

Mr. CharlesD’Cunha, Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting and Mr. Robert Tauro presented the annual accounts which were already sent to the members earlier.

Mr. Godfrey Quadros, Vice chairman who is in charge of educational aid selection committee welcomed the children to the dais to receive their financial assistance from the chairman Mr. Albert W D’souza. The recipients expressed their gratitude by presenting the flowers to the Chairman.
The Association had invited Mr. Raphael D’souza, Advocate-High Court, to enlighten the gathering on making a Will, probating a will and Nomination. He also answered the queries raised by the audience.

The Chairman informed the members that next year (2016) being the tenth anniversary, he proposed to start a new venture in medical aid to the needy patients particularly the dialysis cases through Karuna Hospital Borivali. He appealed to the members to donate or get donation to start the above scheme.

Mr.CharlesD’Cunha announced about ‘CLAUD NITE’ our annual cultural programme being organized on 11th November 2015 at Thackery hall at 8.15 p.m. The event has been sponsored by The Model Co-op. Bank, as their Centenary celebration. Passes are issued Free of cost on the basis of FIRST COME FIRST SERVED

The meeting came to an end with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Veronica Noronha followed by fellowship dinner.
