Mumbai: Well known advocate, social activist H K Sudhakar Arate has been elected as the new president of one of the renowned Kannada Association i.e Chembur Karnataka Sangha, a parent institution of Chembur Karnataka Educational institutions.

H K Sudhakar was elected unanimously for the president post in the recent meeting held for the selection of office bearers for the managing committee of the association. On this occasion, Prabhakar B Bolar was elected as the vice president, Ranjan Kumar R Ameen as the honorary secretary, T R Shetty as the treasurer, Devdas K Shettigar as the joint secretary and Sundar N Kotian as the joint treasurer.

Chembur Karnataka Sangha came into existence six decades ago extending its territory in the Chembur – Tilak Nagar, Manchurd, Trombay cities and developed as one of the main Kannada associations in Mumbai. It is contributing its service in the education field since five decades and bought a site in Ghatla, in the outskirts of Chembur. It is running a school there which has classes from pre primary to pre University College and is providing education to about 4500 students.

Since the start of Karnataka High School and Junior College until now, they stand ahead among the Kannada schools in academic and extracurricular activities.

‘Sahitya Sahavasa’ the annual cultural fest of the institution is very famous and the annual Y G Shetty best teacher award, “Rashtriya Kannada Ratna” award are known as the renowned awards given by the institution.

H K Sudhakar:

H K Sudhakar moved to Mumbai in a very young age and his native place is Arate, Kundapur Taluk, and Udupi District. While he was working he also completed his law education. He is working as a Notary of Government of India, and also as an advisor for renowned law firms.

He is a social activist and has experience working in lions club, Arya Samaja Organizations. He is a patron of art and culture especially yakshagana and continuously giving support to the yakshagana-talamaddale activities in the association.

H K Sudhakar has started ‘Arate Nagamma Sesappa Poojary Memorial Sauharda Award’ for out state Tulu-Kannadigas which contains highest honorarium.
