DUBAI’s WELL-KNOWN BUSINESSMAN DEVESH ALVA LEFT FOR HEAVENLY ABODE TODAY

Devesh Alva, a Mangalorean, gem of a person, well-known in social circles, passed away this morning in Dubai after fighting an ailment for an year. He currently was partly owning Pioneer Marine Services and was earlier Divisional Manager at Solas Marine Services. The famous Woodlands Indian Restaurant at Sharjah was started by Devesh Alva in the year 2008 along with Woodside Restaurant.

A respected businessman, community leader and a philanthropist who had contributed a lot silently in community circles without looking into caste, creed and religion will be a name not to be forgotten. It is a great loss to the community here in Dubai who all bid farewell to this great human and will be fondly remembered.

A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) of SDM College of Engineering & Technology, Devesh Alva was an active athletic and fond of singing. He was also the main person behind the SDM College Alumini in Dubai.

Recently he celebrated his 50th Birthday with is close associates and family. He was also the General Secretary of UAE Bunts. This year as a Manager of ‘Bunts Premier League Season 03 – 2023’ he has successfully conducted the League cum know-out tournament this November at Ajman.

Devesh was an extraordinary human being with golden heart. He was so straightforward, bold & courageous in every approach and at the same time was very good helping hand and magnanimous too. He was the instrumental person for the Global SDMite meet at Dubai few years ago. He has helped so many people in finding suitable job opportunities abroad.

Today hundreds of people gathered in Sonapur, Muhaisnah Mortuary, Dubai to give their last respects and prayers where his body embalming was done to arrange send the mortal remains to Mangalore for final cremation.

KNRI President Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group of Hotels took the lead of arranging the repatriation process and very many Community heads of all the Karnataka & Manglorean Community Associations along with close friends and families gathered for hours together with grief and paid final respect to Devesh’s mortal remains with their prayers for his soul to rest in peace.

Devesh leaves behind his parents Jaya & Lalitha Alva, wife Reshma Naik Alva and son Laksh.

The funeral will take place in Mangalore at his residence tomorrow the 31st December, 2023 and we all miss a true gentleman who has helped innumerable needy people whilst his living in Dubai. We all pray for his Soul to Rest in Peace.
