Dr. Vyasayaya Nunjur Received ‘Karki Venkataramana Shastri Soori Award – 2016’

Mumbai, June 27: “Karki kept a good relationship with all people. Karki’s achievement was excellent even when there was no technology to contact people through devices. He chose the literature as his profession for the enhancement of society and not to impress others. If Karki had written his autobiography, we could have had more details about him. Running a magazine is a difficult task”-said famous scholar of Kannada-Sanskrit, research fellow, Vishnu Bhat Padekal.

Padekal was the chief guest of the programme and inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. This “Karki Venkataramana Shastri Soori Award-2016” award giving function was conducted by Havyaka Welfare Trust Mumbai at Havyaka Auditorium of Deepthi Solitaire building, Ghatkopar (E).

The programme was organized in association with Karnataka Malla-the daily news paper. The president of Havyaka Welfare Trust-Shivalumar P Bhagwath presided over the function. Chandrashekar Palethady-the president of Kannadiga Journalists Association, Dr. Bharath Kumar Polipu-the theatre artist was present as honorary guests. The senior writer, scientist, researcher and the editor of “Gokulavani”- a monthly magazine of BSKB Association, Dr. Vyasaraya Ninjur was honored with “Karki Venkataramana Shastri Soori Award-2016”. Mrs. Bharathi Ninjur was also present during the occasion.

“In the era of Kannada scholar literature, Havyaka people are the first among the writers. The achievement of Keremane Shivarama Hegde, Mahabala Hegde and Shambhu Hegde is admirable. The “Sangeetha Academay” was first founded by Havyaka people; their contribution to the literature and journalism is unique. Havyakas are the asset of Kannada and I am receiving this award very proudly” – said Dr.Ninjur.

Palethady and Shivakumar Bhagwath expressed their views. Sanjay Bhat-the vice-president of the trust, Narayana R Akadasa- were present at the dais. Divya Hegde and Prada Hegde sang the prayer. Keshava Hegde welcomed all. Shashikala Hegde delivered the introductory speech. Umesha Hegde read the message. Chidananda Bhagwath read the felicitation letter. Poornima Akadasa introduced the guests. Amitha S Bhagwath conducted the programme; Thanuja Hegde proposed the vote of thanks.

On the eve of the programme many competitions and cultural programmes were held. A G Bhat-honarary treasurer, R. M Shastri- joint secretary, R N Hegde-the former president of the trust, Shyamala Madhav, B S Kurkal, H B L Rao, Prakash Bhat, Narayana shetty Matunga, G S Nayak, Rama Udupa and others were present.
