SERVICE OF YOUNGSTERS IS NEEDED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION: PAYYARU RAMESH

Mumbai, October 22: Ammembala Sadashiva Navada Charity Fund Yakshaghana Award-2014, which is being given by the Goregaon Karnataka Sangha every year, was presented today evening at Barkur Rukmini Shetty Memorial mini-auditorium of the association at Goregaon (West).

Ammembala Sadashiva Navada Charity Fund Yakshaghana Award-2014 was presented to Narayana P Bangera, renowned senior Chende Maddale player and Yakshaghana artist during Foundation Day celebration of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha, held under the presidentship of Payyaru Ramesh Shetty, the President of the association.

Payyaru Ramesh Shetty inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp and cutting the cake. He said, “Goregaon Karnataka Sangha sets an example for loyalty of an institutional life. The co-operation of all members till today is the reason for the development of the association. Our service will be meaningful if the future projects of the association are implemented based on our past and present services. The selfless services of women in our association is highly commendable. Let the association provide its services continuously with the co-operation of all. Let the members encourage their children and lead the association by making their children also as it’s members”.

He also opined that in the past, disciples were waiting for their Guru. But today, it’s just opposite. Moreover, though the disciples are not present, they have to keep quiet. “Yakshaghana is quite adaptive to our culture. It has an intimate language. But spoilage of artists by their fans is deplorable. One can become good artist if he overcomes the chances of getting spoiled though they are very close to him. Narayana Bangera has got good personality. He is the holder of many diplomas and is very silent and soft-natured. This award is honored by presenting it to Mr. Bangera who is having all good qualities”, said Devalkunda Bhaskara Shetty, the renowned Bhagavata of Thenku Badagu Thittu.

The Ex-Presidents V P Kotian, S M Shetty, G T Acharya, senior member – Sanjeeva Shetty Katkere, Padmaja Mannooru delivered speech and informed about the birth of the association, it’s history and also about the gift of the association for the future generation. The founder remembered the services of people who led the association.

G.T. Acharya expressed his wishes for the 57th Foundation Day celebration and opined, “Goregaon Karnataka Sangha is one of the few associations that celebrate Foundation Day, remembering it’s founder. I bow my head before all the founders of this great association, which was formed with the unity of like-minded people. Development of an association is possible only if it is led by ignoring difference of opinion. The social workers should indulge themselves in the development of the association. Since development is not possible without youngsters, associations will have bright future if they are led by encouraging the young generation”.

V.P. Kotian expressed his opinion and informed about the leaders of this great association Hariyanna Shetty Murooru and Sandesha Shetty. He also said that young generation should come forward to lead the association and the present youngsters are not interested in providing social services. He also worried about the progress of the association inspite of all these difficulties.

He also said, “I have been working for this association since 1970. We never had lack of participation by our members. But because of the formation of few local associations, members don’t get enough time. Let us lead the association together in the forthcoming days like this”.

Padmaja Mannooru said, “I am thankful to all the people who formed this association. We are providing social service today because of their foresightedness. The objectives of the founders can be achieved only if we lead the association to fulfill them”.

Chitrapu K M Kotian, Jayakara d Poojary and others were present. Padmaja Mannooru welcomed the gathering. Sumathi R Shetty sang the prayer song. Veda Suvarna, Vasanthi Kotekar sang the welcome song composed by Sunithi Udyavar. The Honorary Chief Secretary of the association – Meena Kalavar informed about the association and presented the programme. Vidya Deshpande proposed the vote of thanks.
