Inauguration of 11th Kannada Samskruti Sammelana at Dombivili (East)

MOTHER LANGUAGE IS SUPPLEMENTARY FOR CULTURAL LIFE: MUKYAMANTRI CHANDRU

Mumbai, Feb.21: “Mother language is the language of life which announces the festival of a land. Mother language enables us to know about culture. This is an auspicious day that spreads the aroma of our land in this idea exchange festival of the entire Karnataka. Survival of the language has become a supreme duty of Kannadiga mothers”, said Mukyamantri Chandru, the former President of Kannada Development Authority, Bengaluru.

He spoke these words while inaugurating the 11th Akhila Bharatha Kannada Samskruti Sammelana organized today evening at Late Dr. U.R. Ananthamurthy stage of Takur auditorium of Dombivili East. The sammelana was organized for 2 days (Feb.21-22) by Hrudaya Vahini Mangaluru Balaga, Kunda Kannada Balaga Mumbai and Yakshataranga Mumbai.

The former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat – Dr. Nalluru Prasad presided over the function and the Hon. President of Akhila Bharatha Kannada Samskruti Sammelana – D.C. Ramesh Bengaluru presided over the inauguration ceremony, President of Kannada Sangha Bannarapet – M Subramani (Pallavi Mani) was present as the chief guest and the renowned social worker of Manipal – Alevoor Shekhar Poojary was present as the honorary guest.

“Many languages are spoken in India. The love for Kannada language of the outstate Kannadigas who reached Mumbai for their livelihood is excellent. Our mother is very much moved by your love for language and let us lead harmonious life by following our culture and work actively in providing services to Kannadambhe”, said Dr. Nalluru Prasad, the President of the Sammelana.

Mr. D.C. Ramesh said that it is possible to manage everything if we celebrate the language as per festival.

Mr. M Subramani said that everything functions smoothly with the effort of all the people. Hence, our life will be fruitful if we lead and provide services with unity.

Alevoor Shekhar said that human life will be useful by following our culture. To flourish this, we are trying to encourage by conferring Amma award.

The Founder President of Akhila Bharatha Kannada Samskruti Sammelana IM | K P Manjunatha Sagar gave the introductory speech. He said, “More than 10 Lacs of Kannadigas are residing at Greater Mumbai which is the economic capital and commercial city of the nation. In Mumbai, where more Kannadigas are staying besides Karnataka, many Kannadiga organizations are working and providing their services to Kannadambhe. It is highly commendable that Mumbaites are having more love for Kannada language than Karnataka people. In order to encourage it, it is a great pride on our part that this sammelana is organized together by Kunda Kannada Balaga Mumbai and Yakshataranga Mumbai associations.

As a part of cultural programmes, Kunda Kannada Balaga presented Kunda Kannada songs under the leadership of Ganesh Gangolli. Tudar Kala Vedike Pavanje Mangaluru presented Tulunada Vaibhava programme. Mahadeva Satthigeri Darawad group presented hasyada honalu, Swamy group Bengaluru team Go.Na. Swamy, Kallesh Rangaraj, Shivu Haralapura and K. Soundarya group presented music with bhava manjari and Pradeep Kumar, R Soumya, Nagabhushan Hosakote, Roja Bengaluru presented dance programmes.

Kunda Balaga’s Rama Mohan Karanth, Hemant Mendon and others were present. Sammelana began with nada geethe. The President of Kunda Balaga – Prof. Venkatesh Pai welcomed the gathering. Go.Na. Swamy introduced the guests and compered the programme. The Joint Secretary of Kunda Balaga – Prathibha Vaidya proposed the vote of thanks.
