Journalists ’ Association Maharashtra requests help for the treatment of Baby Ditiya Balanja

Mumbai, Sept. 07: Ditiya Balanja, the daughter of journalist Manohar Balanja has been suffering from illness and though she had been undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Mangaluru for many days, it has been of no use. The children specialists of SDM Hospital, Ujire have performed a thorough check-up and found that she has liver problem and jaundice. It has become severe and has affected the liver. She is undergoing daily check-ups by doctors which are very strainful and more than lacs of rupees have been spent to take care of her.

Her father is a journalist and mother is working as a nurse on contract basis. They have approached many hospitals in Bengaluru for the past several months and now found that she suffers from liver failure. Her stomach has become larger and hands and legs have become thin. Her eyes have become yellowish. On seeing the white dress, she thinks that doctors have come to inject her and screams that she doesn’t want it. The sharp edge of that small needle creates terrific fear in her. Urgently, she needs liver transplantation operation at Narayana Hrudayalaya. Rs.16 lacs need to be deposited before admitting into the hospital. She needs to be in the ICU unit for one month and they have to search for a donor of liver. During these months, she has to be under nursing care. Minimum amount of Rs.25 lacs is needed for all these things. We all need to help Ditiya who is the daughter of the journalist Manohar Balanja.

On the request of Working Journalists’ association, Belthangady, under the guidance of the President – Chandrashekhar Palethadi, the Hon. Chief Secretary, Rons Bantwal of Kannadiga Patrakarthara Sangha Maharashtra has taken efforts to provide assistance to Ditiya for her treatment.
