Mumbai, Jun 06: Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra organized journalists' day and the Sangha's 2022 and 2023 Annual Shri KT Venugopal Kapasama Rashtriya Madhyamshri Award ceremony organized by the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra at Club House Auditorium, Solitary Corporate Park, Andheri East here on Sunday.

Bunts Sangh Mumbai President Chandrahasa K. Shetty was the chief guest and inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp. In the program presided over by Rons Bantwal, President of the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra, Media Adviser to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah K.V Prabhakar, Karnataka Working Journalists' Association (KUWJ) President Sivananda Tagadooru, Jayasreekrishna Eco Lover Committee President L.V Amin and Award Committee Chairperson Dr. Sunita M. Shetty was present, Senior Journalists Lawrence Coelho Mumbai (Editor of Divo Konkani Weekly) and Sanath Kumar Belagali (Jamakhandi, Bagalkote) were presented 2022 and 2023 Annual Mr. KT Venugopal-Kapasama Rashtriya Madhyamshri Award with Shawl, Rs.25,000 cheque, Momento, Shawl, Fruits and Flowers.

Kapasama's first book published Divyangane poetry composed by Advocate Rohini J. Salian, a senior member of the Sangh's Advisory Committee, Released by Dr. Sunita M. Shetty. And spoke about Rohini's life and poetry collection. Hon. Gen.Secretary Sa. Daya (Dayanand) deliver Abhinadana Speech.

Chandrahasa Shetty said that the media represents the voice of the people. It is the responsibility of journalists to protect the freedom of the people by raising the voice of the society. He said that journalists have the responsibility to provide factual information without the point of view and journalists are prime to create awareness in the society.

Prabhakar said that it is really commendable that Mumbai journalism is doing the work of spreading Kannada on Marathi soil. Kannadigas regardless of whether they live inland, abroad or in mother land. He said that journalists face many challenges and the task of building the country is in the hands of journalists.

Shivananda Tagadooru said that it is the responsibility of a journalist to select and publish the true news from among the fake news. Therefore, the thinking of emotions should take place in journalists. He said that a journalist has a great ability to respond to everyday pains and sufferings and a journalist should formulate his own theories.

L.V Amin said that Mumbai organizations are working to build Kannada. Along with them, the Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha has also raised the Kannada flag. It is admirable that Kannadiga journalists are sincerely doing the responsibility of preserving Kannada culture in Mumbai.

Sunita Shetty said that Man should not live in loneliness. A man's life is like money and should always give light to others. Rohini Salyan has composed great poems. Wished the writer saying that literature warns us to love life which has mention in the poet Divyangane.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha completes fifteen years. The association Sangha has been working to bring journalists together. There should be unity among journalists. President Rons Bantwal knew that the Sangha should be strengthened by coming together with one mind.

On this auspicious occasion, Awardees Family members Susan L. Coelho, Shasikala Sanathkumar, Journalist Rahul Belagali, Baby Smayana Rahul, Harish G. Pujari Kokkarne, Member of the Executive Committee of Billawara Association, Shyam N. Shetty former president of Bombay Bunts Association, Bhandari Seva Sangh Mumbai President Prabhakar P. Bhandari, Director of Bharat Bank Mr. Raja V. Salian was specially honour with flowers.

Karnataka Rajyotsava Awardee, 92 years old Dr. Sunita M. Shetty, Member of the Sangha, Shiva's College (Established) Working President Dr. Shivaram K. Bhandari, Arif Kalkatta and Hasina Arif newly married couple were honored and congratulated.

In the program, the Sangha's Executive committee members Ranga S. Poojary, Nagesh Poojary Elinje, Nagaraj K. Devadiga, Sadaram N. Shetty, Shyam M. Handhe, Advisory committee members Mr. K.P Prakash L. Shetty, Dr. B. Mohiddeen Mundkur, Dr.Suresh S. Rao, Surendra A. Poojary, Gregory D'Almeida, special invitee member Chandrasekhara R. Belchada, members including KT Venugopal fans were present.

The Program Started with devotional song by Vidya M. Bhandari. Vice President Dr. Shiva Mudigere welcomed gathering and introduce sangha. Jt.Treasurer with Dr.Durgappa Y. Kotiavar, Shyam M. Handhe, Nagesh Poojary Elinje, Anita Poojary Thacode introduced the guests. Hon. Treasurer Vishwanath Poojary Niddody along with Hon.Secretary Savita S. Shetty introduced the awardees. Gopala Trasi compared the program. Sa. Daya gave vote of thanks.
