SIXTY YEAR OLD TONSE VIJAYAKUMAR SHETTY WROTE A NEW CHAPTER TO RANGAVAIBHAVA

Mumbai, Nov. 23: Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty, who strengthened the power of world art is an evolutionary artist who has created world record in the field of art. His achievement is a great honor to the field of art. Vijayakumar Shetty is a great credit to Bunts community and is a great pride to the entire Tulunadu. His special life style and artistic imagination are quite amazing. He introduced his success to the world by establishing himself as the great son of Undivided Dakshina Kannada District and by fulfilling 60 years without having discrimination of caste, creed, etc. in the field of art. Let him receive the prestigious award of the nation very soon”, said Vedamoorthy Pernankila Haridasa Bhat, the chief priest of Shri Ambika Adinatheshwara Mahaganapathy temple of Vidyavihar.

He spoke these words while inaugurating Kalajagathu Rangotsav, which was celebrated on the eve of 35th anniversary of Kalajagathu Mumbai association, founded by Karnataka Rajoyotsava Award winner Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty, with the co-operation of Buntara Sangha Mumbai at Shri Radhabai T Bhandary auditiorium of Kurla (East).

The President of Rangotsava Organizing Committee – Aikala Harish Shetty presided over the function. Padmashri Dr. B R Shetty, the Honorary President of Rangotsava Organizing Committee and the Executive President of NRI NMC Group of Institution Abudhabi inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. The member of Borivili Legislative Assembly – Gopal C Shetty was present as the chief guest and released the souvenir “Kalakshetrada Kranti Purusha Vijayanna”.

The President of Buntara Sangha Mumbai – Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty, Vice President – Prabhakara L Shetty, Sarvottama Shetty Abudhabi, Rangotsava organizer – Yerumal Harish Shetty, Organizer of Kala Jagathu Amma Chavadi – Ratnakara A Shetty, social workers – Nithyananda D Kotian, Dr. Suresh S Rao Kateel, Jayakrishna A Shetty, Jayarama N Shetty, Manjunatha Bannooru, Mrs. Latha Jayarama Shetty, Ulthooru Mohandas Shetty and other dignitaries were present as honorary guests.

“Best wishes to the achiever Vijayakumar who completed 60 years. Let his achievement be printed in Limca Book of World Record very soon. Let his dreams of making the art culture of the society alive come true”, said the MP Gopal Shetty.

“Let this programme of Vijayanna of performing 60 special characters be a successful one. Let God grant all the things he wishes. Let this one day dream programme of Vijayanna be a milestone for his achievement”, said Aikala Harish Shetty, in his presidential address.

Sudhakara Acharya Udupi and team performed cultural programme. A new episode has been created to Ranghavaibhava by performing self-written, directed and music composed by Kalajagathu founder Vijayakumar Shetty and by performing 60 various characters with special dances.

The founder members of Kalajagathu – Ashok Shetty, Baskar Shetty, Vijaya R Bhandary, Udaya R Hegde, Hemant Shetty, N Prathviraj Mundkooru, Sharath Shetty, Suresh K Shetty, Devunath Shetty, Balachandra Shetty, Diwakar M Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Taranath Shetty, Dinesh N Shetty, Yashwant Shetty, Lawrence D’Souza Kemmannu, Baskar Sarapadi and others participated in this programme as artists of various other characters. Padmanabha Sasihitlu performed music.

Karnire Vishwanatha Shetty welcomed the gathering and honored the guests by offering flower bouquets. The Executive President of Kalajagathu Mumbai Surendrakumar Shetty delivered introductory speech and introduced the guests. Pushkal Kumar Tonse sang the prayer. The dance artists of Meeraroad performed dance for ‘Appeseethe’ Ganapathisthuthi. Pushkal Kumar presented Rangotsava song. Baskar Rai Kukkuvalli and Ashok Pakkala presented the programme. The Honorary Secretary Krishnaraj Shetty proposed the vote of thanks.

Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty wrote a new chapter to Ranghavaibhava by beginning the programme of mono-acting of 60 special characters by appearing as Shabdhavediya Dasaratha. All the gathered fans and the cameramen who were picturising the event for Limca Book Record were surprised on seeing his performance.
