‘Kalarava’ Celebration by Tulu-Kannada Welfare Association of Mira-Bhayandar

AN ASSOCIATION SHOULD NOT BE A COMPETITOR OF OTHER: CHANDRASHEKARA PALETHADI

Mumbai, Feb.08: Tulu-Kannada Welfare association of Mira-Bhayandar in association with Sirivara Cultural Academy of Bangalore celebrated “Kalarava-2016” on last Saturday at Meeraground Auditorium, Poonam Sagar Complex, Mira Road (E). Entrepreneurs (USA) Ravi Pilar and Sandhya Pilar inaugurated the ‘Kalarava 2016’ and wished good luck.

Collection of stories “Minchina Honchu’ by Shankuntala R. Prabhu, the collection of poetries ‘Vasu’ and ‘Manolahari’ by Dr. P. M. Bhujanga and Leela Ganesh Karkala respectively were released by Chandrashekara Palethady– the President of Kannada Journalist Association.

“The “Vasu” is the collection of matured poems. It is a work of a talented poet. Leela should write matured poems in future by cultivating the habbit of reading. Shakunthala has narrated the ups and downs of relationship in our lives. Congratulations to all of them. It is easy to build an association. There are thousands of Tulu-Kannada people in Mira-Bhayander region. Tulu-Kannada welfare society organized this programme to develop the culture and literature of these people and this is a matter of pride. One association should not be a competitor of other. Let us understand one another and share the love continuously through organization” –said Chandrashekar Palethady.

“By the grace of my father and mother I am recognized as a writer. Reading and writing are my hobbies. Support of Mumbaikars is unique to achieve this”- said Shakuntala Prabhu.

“For a writer encouragement is essential. The role of Ravi Anchan is remarkable in encouraging a backstage writer like me” - Dr. P. M. Bhujanga expressed his views.

“My native place has sent me to a poetic world. I expect your continuous co-operation in future also” –Leela Ganesh expressed her views.

As a part of the programme, artists of Amitha Kala Mandiar and children exhibited dances, recited songs. Vidwan Madhwaraja Bhat conducted Shri Satyanarayan Pooja, distributed the theerthaprasadam and blessed all. Padmanabha Shetty and Ashalatha Padmanabha Shetty lead the pooja rituals.

The programme began with national anthem. Usha Shetty, Sumithra R. Kundar and Suguna S. Bangera sang the prayer. A. K. Harish – the President of TKW welcomed the gathering. Ravi R Anchan – the Director of the programme gave brief information about the published literatures. Vasanthi S. Shetty – the Vice President of TKW, Leela Ganesh Karkala – the Honorary Chief Secretary, Prakash R. Amin –the Honorary Treasurer and Executive Presidents of various associations Sujaya A. Shetty (Arivu), Mala J. Jain (Olume), Sathish J. Poojary (Youth), Somappa C. Kotian, UmeshBarkur, Meenakshi Poojary, Damodar Gujaran, Harish Suvarna, Gayatri Rao, Chandrahasa B. Amin honoured the guests by offering bouquets and mementos. Ashok Valadoor conducted the stage function and Balachandra Rai conducted the cultural programme. Asha Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
