'Karnataka State Media' Award 2014 conferred to Journalist Rons Bantwal

Bengaluru, April 15: Karnataka Madhyama Academy Annual Award – 2014 presentation programme of Karnataka Government’s Madhyama Academy Bengaluru was held on Thursday evening at Banquet Hall of Vidhansoudha of Bengaluru. Karnataka Madhyama Academy Annual Award – 2014 has been presented to Rons Bantwal, renowned journalist of Mumbai by Law Minister – B T Jayachandra under the presence of Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of the State.

R. Roshan Baig, the Minister for Infrastructure, Haj and Information & Public Relation Department presided over the function. H. Anjaneya, the Minister for Social Welfare & Backward Classes Welfare Department released the documentary film of the winners of the academy award. Ramalinga Reddy, the Minister for Transport and District Incharge of Bengaluru city released the booklet of award winners.

P C Mohan, the member of Lok Sabha, members of Vidhan Parishat – K Govindaraju and H M Revanna, Govt’s Chief Secretary of Kannada and Culture and Information & Public Relation Department – Dr. N Nagambika Devi, Director of Information and Public Relation Department – N R Vishukumar, President of Madhyama Academy – M A Ponnappa were present as guests and delivered speeches. The Secretary of the Academy – S Shankarappa and others were present.

Andolan Award – 2014 presented for the best district magazine has been awarded to Raichur Vani magazine, Abhimani Award – 2014 for articles on social issues has been awarded to Siddalinga Swamy of Vijaya Karnataka for his title “Kunigal Taluku Gollara hattiya mahileyarige herige, rutusrava andare shikshe” (delivery, menstrual bleeding means a punishment to the women of Gollara hatti, Kunigal Taluk) , and Mysore Digantha Award – 2014 for humanity issues has been awarded to Shridhar Mangalur’s Lokadhwani daily magazine of North Canara for his title “tanuva teydu sugandha hanchuva karmapathika”

Athoor Shivarama K Bhandary of Shiva’s Stylos Institute, vasthu expert – Pandit Naveenchandra R Sanil, Somashekhar M Bhandary, Tara Jacintha R Bantwal, P Somashekhar, Nagesh Polali and others were present during this occasion at the auditorium of Vidhansoudha and congratulated Rons Bantwal.
