CONVENIENCE OF TRAIN TRAVELLERS IS OUR PRIORITY: R L DAIS

Mumbai, October 5: “Our association’s continuous efforts for the convenience of train travellers have become fruitful. The care of Netravati-Kochi-Kurla train journey (Thiruvananthapuram-Kurla) which came into existence in 1988 and Mangaluru Kurla Mathsyagandha Express journey in Konkan Railway track supplement the convenience of the travellers. Our present efforts are continuing and demand for Bandra Vasai Road Mangaluru train also continues. One train to Tanjavur temple and Velankanni church, stop at Dadar for CST Mangaluru Super Fast train, Bengaluru-Mangaluru day train, Konkan Railway timetable, etc. are being managed. Let us have the confidence of Railway Yatri Sangha Borivili Mumbai and strive hard together for the convenience of railway travellers”, said R L Dais, the President of Railway Yatri Sangha (R) Udupi.

He spoke these words in the adalat of Railway Yatri Sangha organized by Railway Yatri Sangha Borivili Mumbai (West zone) with the co-ordination of Malad Kannada Sangha at the auditorium of Deepamala Society at Marve Road of Malad (West) on Friday evening.

Virar Shankar Shetty, the Hon. President of Railway Sangha presided over the adalat and Harish N Shetty, the President of Malad Kannada Sangha who is the sponsor of the meeting inaugurated by lighting the lamp and the Secretary of Railway Yatri Sangha Udupi – Prabhakar Acharya, Treasurer – Ramachandra Acharya, John Rebello, Madhusudhan Heroor were felicitated by Shimanthooru Udaya Shetty, the President of Railway Yatri Sangha Mumbai and Harish N Shetty by offereing them flower bouquets.

“We are fighting together for availing railway journey facilities for Mumbai people under the guidance of Gopala C Shetty, the MP of Borivili Loksabha Constituency. Our plans will be implemented with the encouragement and support of the people of the city. Hence, Tulu-Kannadiga people should support us in large number”, said Virar Shankar.

In the presidential address, Harish N Shetty said, “Many organizations like us are working in Mumbai. Their representatives should support Railway Yatri Sangha Borivili. Our demands will be implemented if they extend their co-operation when we fight for railway facilities”.

“Our fighting is a collective one. We are fighting collectively, considering the train journey of west zone people. We are striving hard for the sophisticated new railway services and the support of organizations-institutions for the train journey of the native is very much needed. Though many people face problems daily in train journey, their non-cooperation to the organizations that fight for it is really unfortunate. Henceforth, extend all your co-operation and help us to succeed in our fighting”, said Shimanthooru Udaya Shetty.

The Vice President of Malad Kannada Sangha – adv. Jagadeesh Hegde, Jaya Shetty Charcop, adv. S B Amin, Petemane Prakash Shetty expressed their opinions.

The Consultant and the Vice President of Railway Yatri Sangha – Premanatha Kotian, Joint Secretary – Rajith Suvarna, Treasurer of Malad Kannada Sangha – Prakash S Shetty, Joint Secretary – Anil S Poojary, Joint Treasurer – Shankar R Shetty and Balakrishna Shetty Varapady, Raviraj K Kalyanpur, Tonse Sanjeeva Poojary, Baskar V Bangera, Gopal Kalyanpur and many other dignitaries were present.

Sujatha Tulasidas Amin sang the prayer. Harish N Shetty welcomed the gathering. The Chief Secretary of Railway Yatri Sangha Mumbai – Mrs. Sheela Shetty and the Chief Secretary of Malad Kannada Sangha – Shankar D Poojary presented the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
