Dubai: Mogaveers UAE as every year successfully conducted the 8th year ‘Blood Donation’ Campaign at the Global Village with Al Ameen Service (Dubai police) on the 11th December 2015, from 4.30 PM to 11.00 PM on the occasion of UAE’s 44th National Day.

Strong team along with Balakrishna M Salian and family was present at 4:30pm. Ms. Zainab and her team from Dubai Blood Donation Center were there by 4 pm along with strong Al Ameen Service Team including young volunteers.

Mogaveers UAE’s enthusiastic team led by Bala Salian was actively involved in this noble cause. Yathish Puthran & his family came all the way from Abu Dhabi with number of Abu Dhabi Mogaveeras as well as few other donors which made this campaign more successful. In spite of busy schedule and other hurdles, Mohammed Irshad team also joined in the cause. People from different nationalities joined our Save Life Campaign and Total of 339 donors donated blood during this time

MogaveersUAE’s Executive Committee Members Vinod Kanchan, Yadav Kotian, Purushotham Suvarna, Goverdhan Salian, Dinesh Kanchan, Rohithaksha Salian & Sudhir Suvarna were whole heartedly supported this campaign by providing all sorts of assistance. The team of Al Ameen Services congratulated the Mogaveers UAE team and Bala Salian for the dedication towards this noble cause and Save Life Campaign.

As per the Dubai Blood Donation Centre (DBDC), the need for blood is ongoing and must be met every day. The demand for blood is growing faster than the collection rate and DBDC has requested to have an instant response to the rapid growth in blood demand which is obviously proportionate to the fast growing population of the city along with healthcare facilities.

The seasonal blood shortage obviously occurs in the holy month of Ramadan and through the summer holiday. DBDC is the largest blood supplier in Dubai. Its services extend to Thalassemia patients (Thalassemia Center at Lathifa Hospital, Dubai), road accident and burn victims (Trauma Centre at Rashid Hospital), patients with neonates and maternity health complications (Lathifa Hospital Dubai), cases diagnosed with cancer or scheduled for open heart operations (Dubai Hospital) as well as to all private health facilities within Dubai that are entitled for transfusion services.

Al Ameen Service has agreed to go for the bigger car sticker along with Mogaveers UAE on the Blood Donors Day on June 14.

Mogaveers UAE thanked all the associations, individuals, and also special thanks to Harsha Poojary from 89.1 Radio4 including all the media supporters.

Mogaveers UAE hereby request all the associations and individuals to come forward for the noble cause; as their aim is to reach 5000 units of blood per annum.
