Mumbai: KONKANI WELFARE ASSOCIATION SION ® celebrated their 2nd fun-filled nativity of Mother Mary Feast (MONTI FEST) at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Sion on 19th September, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

As per tradition children carried flowers in procession to the statue of Our Lady followed by blessing of Novem.

Fr. Nelson Saldanha, Parish Priest, Infant Jesus Church, Pant Nagar, Ghatkopar graced the celebration as a special guest along with Parish Priest Fr. Basil Lobo. Fr. Nelson addressing the gathering appreciated the unity among KWA members and wished them all the best.

Fr. Nelson and also Members of KWA & Parishners for their interest & hard work and congratulated them.

Following the spiritual ceremony, President Harry Sequeira welcomed the gathering for cultural programme. The crowd was kept entertained with many spot prizes, dances, songs by Parishners and members of KONKANI WELFARE ASSOCIATION and JOKES were presented by Mr. Gregory Sequeira Niddodi & Group, “Konkan Kale”, Bandra.

KWA Committee Members – Harry Sequiera, Denis D’souza, Rita Aranha, Leena Pinto, Dulsin Furtado, Rihan Aranha, Molly Sequeira, Lawrence Lobo, Leena Lobo, Vanita D’Souza, Kistu, Fatima, Helen D’Souza, Peter D’Souza, George, Rupin worked hard for the success of this programme and thanked the parishners for their support & cooperation.

Mr. Clement Lobo, Chakala compeered this programme.

At the end, traditional & tasty food with variety of vegetables like Alum-Dento, Karate, Tovshiachem Karam etc., and “Vorn” prepared by Velankini Carerers, Vakola was served.
