Muscat: MCCS Warriors win ‘Mangalore cricket tourney 16’

Muscat: ‘The Mangalorean Roman Catholic Cricket Tournament 2016’, hosted by the Al Hail School of Cricket, was held in floodlights at the Al Hail School of Cricket on Thursday, November 24 from 2.30 pm onwards.

The tournament was organized by Deepak D’souza and Ajith D’Costa. The aim of the tournament was to promote and engage the MRC youth and provide them a platform through cricket to express themselves.

 

The organizers and all involved at the event expressed their gratitude to all sponsors. The sponsors were Oasis Water, Arabian Concepts Trading, Khalsa United, Kaushik Vyas, Raphael Dsouza (Team VR1).

 

The chief guest of the inaugural programme was Dad Mohammed Al Balushi. The event was compered by Allwyn Pinto. Azra Begum provided the commentary. Mohammed Aleem Anees, Gerwin Dias and Keshav G were event coordinators. Scorers were Ramki and Lakshmish Pai. Samir Parkar, Srinivas Prabhu, Ritesh and Praveen were umpires of the matches.

Nancy Dsouza, Reshma Dcosta, Ashok Mathias and Praveen Pinto handed over the trophies and awards to the winners.

Men’s Results:

Men’s Champions – MCCS Warriors and runner- up – MFC

Individual Awards:

Maximum Sixes & Player of the Tournament - Ashok Mathias of MCCS Warriors

Best Bowler - Clinton Dsouza of MFC.

Women’s Result:

Champions - MCCP Strikers and runner- up - MCCS Divas

Player of the Tournament - Cynthia Saldanha.
