NIA’S SUGGESTIONS REGARDING THE ACCUSED OF MALEGAON BOMB BLAST
PUBLIC PROSECUTOR ROHINI SALIAN WORRIES ABOUT SHOWING SOFT ATTITUDE

Mumbai, June 26: “After the Narendra Modi’s government took over power at Central last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has suggested me to show soft attitude in the matter relating to the accused of Malegaon bomb blast”, said Rohini Salian, the Special Public Prosecutor of bomb blast case and through this, one more dispute has been raised against Modi government.

“One of the NIA officers called and told me that he wished to meet me. When he met me last year, he told me to be soft in the matter relating to the accused of this case. He was directed by the higher authority to suggest such a thing to me”, said Rohini Salian, the special public prosecutor of bomb blast case while talking to the reports.

She also said, “The same officer met me on June 12 this year and told me that another lawyer would be appointed, replacing me, in this case. I told him to pay the balance amount and to announce that I had been dropped from this case. But, till date, I have not received any announcement regarding the replacement and the balance amount to be paid”. Rohini Salian refused to reveal the name of that NIA officer who met her.

She said that she has a dispute with NIA regarding her fees. NIA is ready to pay the fees as equivalent to the fees being paid to CBI lawyers. Rohini Salian refuses it and says that fees should be paid in the same way as it was paid earlier by the NIA.

Undeclared Emergency Condition:

By suggesting Rohini Salian, the special public prosecutor of 2008 Malegaon bomb blast, to show soft attitude in the matter relating to the accused, the NDA government has imposed an undeclared emergency condition”, alleged the Congress.

NIA’s decision to drop Salian
NIA provided its clarification regarding this and said that the process of dropping Rohini Salian and two more special public prosecutors from this case is underway. A letter from NIA’s Mumbai branch to provide an announcement of dropping Rohini Salian and other two special public prosecutors has been received on June 16 and Mumbai’s recommendation has been sent to the Headquarters and the process is underway.

Rohini Salian is the daughter of Jarappa Salian, basically from Bolur of Mangaluru city region of Dakshina Kannada district.
