Odiyoorushri’s Annual Visit to Mumbai

DEVOTEES ARE THE ASSETS OF SPIRITUALITY: GURU DEVANANDA SWAMIJI

Mumbai, July 28: Shri Guru Devananda Swamiji of Shri Gurudevadutta Samsthanam Shri Dattaguru Veeranjaneya Swamy Odiyooru Kshetra of Dakshina Kannada district of coastal Karnataka today arrived to the International Airport at Santacruz of Mumbai for his annual visit.

Odiyoorushri arrived with Sadhvi Shrimathanandamayi and lawyer Kadandale Parari Prakash L Shetty, the President of the Maharashtra Unit of Shri Gurudeva Seva Balaga and the office bearers gave a warm welcome by offering them Tulsi garland.

“Though people are now leading scientifically with inventions and researches, nothing can grow beyond the power of devotion. Religions are the foundations of culture and spirituality. Religion is the purification of quality of life and life style of the people. Hence, devotees are the assets of spirituality and we can see values in them. Social achievements are possible through the protection of religion”, said Guru Devananda Swamiji.

Swamiji expressed condolences for the sad demise of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and said, “He was a wonderful talented Indian. He led his life on the principles of philosophy and taught others also about values of life. His humanitarian life is a model for the whole world. He was a scientist of six countries, a best citizen and our ex-president. His demise is a great loss to our nation”.

Addressing the journalists, Odiyoorushri said, “India is a land of Guru tradition. India is the only country which has been developing through its roots of spirituality. It’s our duty to protect these ancient traditions which are inherent. Hence, we should cultivate religious consciousness in our future generation also. Efficient leadership of Mutts and seers should supplement these. Seer group should plan to lead on the principles laid by saints. I have undertaken this visit to make the Mumbai people understand the meaning of inherent life”.

Treasurer – Boja Shetty, Joint Secretaries – Diwakar Shetty and Damodara Shetty, Executive President of Maharashtra Unit of Shri Vajramatha Mahila Vikasa Kendra – Revathi Vamaiah Shetty, ex President – Suvasini S Shetty, A to Z Narayana R Shetty, Vamaiah Shetty, Dananjaya Shetty Sion, Bujanga Shetty, Ashok Devadiga, Balakrishna Shetty, Anand K, Jayarama Santha, Gangadhara Rai, Dayananda Hegde, Anand Ail, Mohan Hegde, Rakesh Bhayander, Jayanthi N Shetty, Usha Shetty, Sumathi R Shetty, Shailaja A Shetty, Indira A Shetty, Devadas Uchil, Gunapal Shetty Thane, Savitha A Shetty, Karunakara Alva, Gopala Y Shetty, Damodara Shetty Nerol and devotees, office bearers and members of Maharashtra Units of Seva Balaga and Shri Vajramatha Mahila Vikasa Kendra were present and got the blessings of the Swamiji. Swamiji then visited Nerol and blessed the devotees gathered there.

“Swamiji will be staying in Mumbai for 12 days from today and will be visiting the city, suburbans, Navi Mumbai, Thane and will be participating in various religious programmes arranged by the devotee organizers and will be blessing them”, said lawyer Prakash Shetty, the President of the Balaga.
