Feel proud about the society in which you took birth: Nirmalanandanathashree

Mumbai, Feb 1: “Today’s youth fail to understand their elders and ancestors. People who built the society and the house have their own experiences. So there is a need to listen to the experiences of the older. Why should we feel ashamed about our birth community?”-said Jagadguru Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, the Seer of Sri Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana.

Nirmalanandanatha Shree said these words while inaugurating the ‘OkkaligaMahotsava’ a combination of Guruvandana and Padapoojaalong with folk and cultural programme organized by Okkaliga Association Maharashtra at Smt Radhabai T Bhandary Auditorium, Bunt’s Bhavan on last Saturday.

“We may have to repent one day if we hate our community. We should encourage the organizers for our association to grow strongly. Man can attain respect by earning the education and intelligence. This makes our spirit clean and we will be able to see God. The work of Okkaliga Association in Mumbai is to be appreciated. I wish let a branch of Adichunchangiri Educational group start very soon in Mumbai” –said Nirmalanandanatha Shree.

The ceremony was held in the president ship of Rangappa C Gowda-the president of the association. Ex-prime minister of India H.D.Devegowda was the chief guest, Dr.Narayana Gowda-the founder president of Okkaliga Sangha Maharashtra and MLA of K.R.PetMandya and KarnireVishwanatha Shetty-the president of Bunts Association Mumbai and Dr Sunil Mallesh of Adichunchanagiri trust were present as the honorary guests. Because of their hard work we are living a life with some comforts. Okkaliga means son of the earth. Our community is weakening due to lack of unity. Gowda is not a caste, it is a profession. Ours is a community that tills the land. Shri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji is trying hard to unite us. Programmes like gurruvandane and padapooja are great works by the association.”

25 Lakh Kannadigas in Mumbai are here for their daily bread. Ex Prime Minister Deve Gowda has done a lot to the Mumbai Kannadigas. There should not be three doors to a house. No one will prosper by this. Casteism should be eradicated. We should live as Kannadigas-said Dr Narayana Gowda.
