Doha, 13th December 2014: At the outset of the Christmas season, Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), a socio cultural group in Qatar organized Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday evening 13th December 2014 at Al-Jazeera Academy. This celebration was like a breath of fresh air as the whole atmosphere was in a festive mood decorated with Christmas tree, crib, star and Christmas colours in which children in the age group of 1 to 16 participated actively in the program with full enthusiasm. Nearly 100 children took part in the program and shared in the joy, celebration and gifts from Santa Claus.

Young talented Vanessa Saldanha, MC of the evening started the program singing “Dashing through the snow” bringing in the Christmas mood right from the beginning. Young Lavin Tauro then began with an opening prayer. President Norbert Corda welcomed the children, all dressed in Christmas colours. Mrs. Della Rego, MCC Membership Secretary then shared a beautiful and meaningful Christmas message to the children. Christmas Uncle Santa Claus walked in surprising the children and doubling their joy. President Norbert Corda along with Santa Claus and children cut the Christmas cake. Young carollers then sang beautifully the Christmas carols in English & Konkani as Ruth Quadros & Lavin Tauro played the music on keyboard and guitar respectively, ushering the spirit of Christmas.

Energetic Wilma D’Souza then conducted some interesting games for children like picking the Christmas goodies, Santa says, quiz, group games like dressing the snowman, recognizing the carol from the pictorial games, etc. who enjoyed their evening to the fullest in the group of their friends. The attraction of the evening was the appearance of Santa Claus who danced and sang with the children and gave away sweets.

Santa Claus along with Vice President Prakash Noronha gave away the gifts to the winners. All children went home happily collecting their Christmas gifts and snack box.

MCC thanks all the volunteers who helped in organizing this party and making it another memorable event.
