Senior Journalist Hemaraj Karkera honored by “Maadhyamashree” Award

Mumbai, April 10: The third annual celebration of Kannada monthly magazine “Chayakirana” published by Kuntini Prakash Hegde was held on Sunday at Girija Payyade Auditorium, Joker Plaza Complex, Kalyan (W). On this occasion, Hemaraj Karkera, native of Kaup, undivided South Canara district, the senior journalist and news editor of “Mumbai News”, the only Kannada visual media of Mumbai, was honored with “Maadhyamashree” award.

 

The special co-ordinator of Maharashtra Government and advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash L Shetty presided over the function. During the occasion, the senior writer and poet, Dr Sunitha M Shetty, journalist Vaniprasad N Karkera were present. Dr Surendra V Shetty the executive president of Jasmine group, industrialist Prabhakara J Shetty, Bhaskar S Shetty, Sathish N Shetty, T S Upadyaya and Dayashankar P Shetty were present and wished good luck.

During the occasion, B S Kurkal and Prakash Hegde the honorary and chief editors of “Chayakirana”, Shalini Ajekaru and Jyothi P Kuntini were present. Kavigoshti was performed by the poets. Ashok Pakkala compered the programme.
