The Cookery Competition –‘Special Dishes of Dakshina Kannada’ and the Rajyotsava Celebration was Organized by Gokula Women Wing

Mumbai, Nov.29: The B.S.K.B Association, Gokula women wing organized the cookery competition of special dishes of Dakshina Kannada at Ashraya on 25th November. Nutritional, tasty special dishes of Dakshina Kannada predominantly made up of rice and coconut were present at the competition. Women participants prepared traditional food items and added their own new flavor of innovation. They prepared tasty and varieties of sweet and spicy dishes and garnished it and also kept for presentation. Kusum Shrinivas helped the contestants. J.K. Shanta Rao, Snehaprabha Rao and Anantaraj Bhat were present as the judges of the competition. Sahana Pothi- convener of women wing co-operated with the judges. Program began with the prayer and Prema Rao- President of women wing welcomed the gathering.

 

In the occasion, as a part of Karnataka Rajyotsava celebration Kannada Bhavageete (emotion poetry) composed by well-known poets were sung by children of Bala Kalavrinda and Kannada quiz competitions were held.

Later, in the formal program Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Suresh Rao honored the judges by offering bouquets. In the spicy dish division Shalini Rao, Bhagyalakshmi Chadaga, Suchitra Rao won the first, second and third prize respectively. Shalini Udupa, Latha Jagadish and Rajashree Rao won the first, second and third prize respectively in the sweet dish division. A.P.K. Pothi- Secretary, P.C.N. Rao- joint Secretary, Vijayalakshmi Rao, Chandravathi Rao handed over the prizes to the winners. Prema Rao compered the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
