Mumbai, November 01: Last Thursday evening, on the day of Mahanavami of Sharannavarathri, Deeparadhana was celebrated at Gokul in a grand scale by Gopalakrishna Public Trust and BSKB Association of Sion.

During this occasion, on the eve of cultural programme, “Nrithya Sinchana”- Bharathanatya programme was performed under the direction of Kodavuru Sudhir Rao and Vidhushi Manasi Sudhir of “Nrithyana Nikethana” Kodavuru, Udupi with the sponsorship of Vedamurthy Pernankila Haridas Bhat – the chief priest of Shri Ambika Temple of Vidyavihar. The “Dasavani” devotional song programme was performed by Narayana Saralaya-The “Asthan Singer” of Sri Krishna Mutt Udupi and Vidvan Sudhir Rao Kodavuru. Shridhar Acharya and Devesh Bhat accompanied them with violin and mridangam.

The secretary of Gopalakrishna Public Trust-A S Rao, honored Sudhir Rao, Manasi Sudhir, Narayana Saralaya and play-back artists by offering bouquets. Prema Rao welcomed the artists in the beginning and at the end proposed vote of thanks.

In the evening Vedamurthy Krishnaraja Upadyaya and other priests conducted the rituals of “Deeparadhana”. Vamana Holla and Jayalaxmi Holla couple led the pooja. Deetya played as Kannike, Veena Karanth, Geetha K Bhat and Lalita Rao took the place of Mahakali, Mahalaxmi and Mahasaraswathi respectively. Kannika and Suwasini Pooja were conducted with the co-operation of Badrinarayana Pilinjne and Poornima. The Sharada Pooja was arranged at Bhujanga Rao hall. The theertha prasadam and Anna- prasadam was distributed to all the devotees.
