INAUGURATION OF CHATURMASYA VRATHACHARANE BY BOTH SEERS OF PEJAWARA AT GREATER MUMBAI

Mumbai, July 20: The Seer of Udupi Shri Pejawara Mutt of Jagadguru Shri Madhwacharya Maha Samsthan – Shri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji started his 76th year’s Chaturmasya Vratha today at Gokula Hall of Sion (East) of Mumbai.

As per the wishes of the devotees, the Seer of Pejawara has started celebrating his Chaturmasya Vrathacharane this time at Prabhat Colony of Santacruz (East) along with his younger disciple Shri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Shripada who is going to celebrate his 26th annual Chaturmasya Vratha.

The inaugural ceremony of the celebration of Chaturmasya Vrathacharane of both the Seers was jointly organized by the Poornaprajna Vidyapeet Prathishtan Mumbai and B.S.K.B. Association Mumbai and Chaturmasya Welcome Committee. Vidwan Nagarahalli Prahlada Acharya, the Principal of Sarvajna Vidyapeeta Virar presided over the ceremony and Pejawara Shree inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp.

The Seer of Pejawara Mutt said, “During Chaturmasya, the seer should not go out anywhere and the reason behind this is that while walking, animals may get tortured. Animal variety increases during rainy season. So, during these 4 months, we should follow non-violence. This is what is called Chaturmasya. This is also called as a period when god sleeps. But nothing will happen when god sleeps. He acts as if he sleeps. He is awake while sleeping also. But, we sleep when we awake also. Hence we call the period that pull the society to religious trend as Chaturmasya period”.

He also said, “There is a need to create deep spiritual knowledge along with emphasis on modern education which is required for our current life. The Mutts are executing this work. The role of Mutt is quite significant in raising the society to higher position. Along with religious teachings, knowledge about our country is also taught. Hence, the world can survive only by promoting religion”.
Vishwaprasanna Theertha Shripada said, “One rich man can pull Brahmarathotsava. But this is impossible for us. But we feel blessed that atleast we can pull the rope. Like that, the social service provided by Shri Vishwesha Theertha is quite impossible for us to do. We can be blessed atleast by providing our co-operation and participating in his service. You are all blessed by Shripada. The achievements of Shripada itself is like Meru mountain. Let his power bring happiness to our life”.

Mr. Jagannatha K Shetty, the legislator of Sion (East) assembly constituency and Mr. Krishna H Hegde, the legislator of Vile parle (East) assembly constituency were present as the honorary guests.

Mr. Krishna Hegde, the legislator said, “The blessings of the Seers strengthens our national politics and motivates service for our nation. The blessings of the Seer protects our nation’s plenty”.

Vidwan Nagarahalli Prahlada Acharya, informed about Chaturmasya and in his presidential speech he said, “Good functions are not organized during 6 months when Shrihari sleeps. But people who perform their rituals to Devi as per god’s blessings during the 4 months of Chaturmasya are blessed more than the people who perform rituals during the remaining 8 months”.
