244 couples tie the knot at mass wedding ceremony by Sena

Aurangabad : As many as 244 couples of different castes tied the knot at a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Shiv Sena here on Saturday.

The ceremony, conducted as part of the Balasaheb Thackeray Kanyadaan Yojna was attended by Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, his son and Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray and several state Ministers. The couples were given gifts and lunch .

On Sunday, the BJP and the Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Samiti will organise a mass wedding in neighbouring Jalna district where around 530 couples will tie the knot. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ministers Sudhir Mungantiwar and Vinod Tawade are expected to attend.

State BJP chief Raosaheb Danve said the couples will be part of a procession in autorickshaws before the ceremony, which is expected to be attended by over a lakh people.
