Mumbai, January 09, 2016: GVK Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) in association with the Mumbai Rose Society is hosting the 3rd International Flower Show from January 9-10, 2016 at MIAL Colony, Sahar Road, Andheri East in Mumbai. The flower show was formally inaugurated on January 9 by Mrs. Urvashi Thacker, well-known bonsai expert of international repute and Trustee of Jamnabai Narsee School.
The highlight of the show is an expansive stretch of green wall measuring 4000 sq. ft. The vertical green wall is a concept that’s gaining a lot of interest globally, in view of the need for urban greening in the face of diminishing ground space. The green wall is a simple yet highly effective way of increasing the green cover while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of any place.
The flower show will include exhibits with different varieties of flora from foreign countries as well as native breeds from different parts of India. There will be displays of various flowers and plants which are grown in different climatic conditions. These include flowers such as Roses, Lyliums, Chrysanthemum, Bird of Paradise, Gerberas, Antirrhinums, Carnations, Heliconias, Orchids and others.
There will also be displays of Bonsai, Carnivorous plants, Seasonal flowers, Shrubs, Creepers, Ground covers, Cactii, Succulents, Medicinal/Herbal/Aromatic plants, Indoor plants, Adeniums, Flower arrangements and more.
MIAL is the only Corporate in India to organize such a show, which is as engaging as it is essential in encouraging and spreading the green cover in a city like Mumbai. MIAL has also arranged for nurseries and outlets to sell plants and accessories for horticulture and gardening.
