Tilak Nagar Resident's Association had SHOBHA YATRA on Gudi Padwa

Mumbai: Tilak Nagar Resident's Association had SHOBHA YATRA, along with other Social Organizations and NGO on Gudi Padwa, March 21, 2015; the first day of the Hindu calendar will be observed with great fervour in the city. Maharashtrians begin the day with Gudi puja and prabhat feri or shovayatra to mark the beginning of the New Year.

Many NGO like Tilak Nagar Pestom Sagar, Karnataka Sangha along with Ayyappa Bhakta Samaj , Tilak Nagar Christian Group, also many more NGOs and oganizations took part in this rally starting at 7:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. going around Tilak Nagar Colony comprising of more than 200 buildings.

Advocate, Mr Nitin Nikam, who initiated this movement along with Mr. Peter Fernandes and Mr. Mithbhavkar, Gen. Secretary Mr Chandrahas Shetty, Mr Shekhar Shetty, felt we residents can solve many problems like creating awareness and solve problems like Mobile Tower at Garden and other issues happening in Tilak Nagar and save Tilak Nagar Sahyadri Ground from mobile towers, as all colony children use the ground for recreation and senior citizen relax and walk for peace and happiness in the evening.

Also not to leave behind actors from entertainment field, senior actor Mr Anant Jog and actress Ms. Anshumala Patil joined the Rally. Most of the women and men wore Bhagwa (Orange ) Peta on the head, which added charm and a vibrant touch to the rally. Women were playing Phugree and Jeemma typical maharastrian sports. Also some wore nine yards sari giving a typical traditional touch, as karnataka sangh wore south Indian sari, Ayyapa Bhakta samaj women wore typical Kerala sari worn for religious pujas et cetera.
