15 BJP leaders to address Suraksha Yatra meetings

Mangaluru, (The Hindu): As many as 15 national leaders from Bharatiya Janata Party will speak at each one of the 15 public meetings to be held during the party’s three-day long Jan Suraksha Yatra in Mangaluru that starts on March 6, said Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel here on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Kateel said that the yatra will be held in two parts. While one part of the yatra will start from Ankola in Uttara Kannada and it will be flagged off by Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar.

The other part of the yatra will begin from Kushalanagar and it will be led by Mr. Kateel and Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha.

Mr. Kateel said that apart from Mr. Javadekar, there will be 14 national leaders who will address public meetings at each one of the 15 places through which the yatra will pass. The names of the national leaders will be announced in the next few days.

Mr. Kateel said that of the 337-km long yatra, about 90 km will be padayatra (by walk). The yatra will be held in a similar way as the Jan Raksha Yatra held in Kerala in October 2017.

Mr. Kateel said that the two legs of yatra will culminate at the Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru on March 6 evening where Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address a public meeting.

BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa will attend it, he said.
