Bengaluru, (DHNS): “What does he know about problems of farmers. Dams in that part of Karnataka (north Karnataka) are full. Hence, he is busy with only Lingayat and Veerashaiva issue.”

This is how ‘rebel star’ and the Congress MLA from Mandya M H Ambareesh on Wednesday expressed his displeasure at Water Resources Minister M B Patil for delaying release of water from the Cauvery basin reservoirs for irrigation purpose.

Speaking at a meeting of elected representatives convened by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here to discuss the issue of low water level in the reservoirs, the actor-politician said: “The farmers are up in arms in Mandya.

They have even performed tithi (mock last rites) of politicians to express their anguish. We are not in a position to face people is our constituencies.”
