Haveri , (DHNS): Kaginele (Haveri district): BJP president Amit Shah on Tuesday said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah boasts himself as a Ahinda leader but his true concern was only for the minorities.

"In making allocations in the budget too, Siddaramaiah showed discrimination in allocating funds to minorities and OBCs, in proportion to their population," he charged.

Addressing the BJP's state-level backward classes convention here, Shah asked Siddaramaiah to reply on why the Congress defeated the bill to give Constitutional status to the OBC commission, in the Rajya Sabha, demanding appointment of two minority members in the OBC commission also. "How much ever the Congress tries to oppose or create an obstacle, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre will pass the OBC Bill in both houses of Parliament. This is our decision and we will see to it that the community gets justice," he said.

Among the 24 BJP and RSS workers murdered in the state, many were from OBC communities. How long the Congress government would promote politics of violence and how many murderers Siddaramaiah would protect? We would trace murderers even if they were hiding in the 'Pathaala' and would punish them, when B S Yeddyurappa would become the chief minister,
Shah noted.

The state government was not allowing Central schemes to reach the people effectively. The Centre introduced 116 programmes for the welfare of all, including backward classes, but Siddaramaiah was engaged in divisive politics through his lies, and the Congress government was dividing society like the British, the BJP chief charged.

Out of nearly one crore beneficiaries of Mudra scheme in the state, 50% are OBCs. Out of 3.5 lakh beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme, one lakh women are from the OBCs. Now, the Centre's decision to pay up to Rs 5 lakh medical bills of 10 crore families each would also benefit the OBCs, he said.

Yeddyurappa assured to spend Rs one lakh crore for irrigation, if the BJP comes to power. Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa, a OBC leader, noted that Siddaramaiah is a fake and self-proclaimed leader of backward classes.

Ahead of the Assembly polls, the BJP had strategically organised its OBC convention at Kaginele, the Karmabhoomi of saint, philosopher, composer and social reformer Kanakadasa.
