Bengaluru (DHNS): BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Bengaluru for three days from August 3. During his course of stay in the state capital, a decision on the BJP candidates for the coming Assembly elections is likely to be taken.

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa told reporters here on Tuesday that he has been touring the state for last few days and covered 13 districts until now. After completion of the state tour, Shah would be given a report on the political situation in the state and also a list of those aspiring to contest the elections, based on the responses received from party leaders and workers. Shah would finalise the names of the candidates who would contest the elections, he added.

Yeddyurappa demanded the state government to waive the cooperative loans of farmers as done by the Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra governments. When the BJP was in power, such loans had been waived in the state too. The state government, instead of looking towards the Centre for loan waiver, should act on its own, he demanded.

The former chief minister emphasised the need for making the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here operational during the the entire year and urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to shift offices of some four to five departments to its premises. About five ministers operating from here would make the state’s second secretariat operational as Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore is spent annually to maintain it, he added.
