Bengaluru, (DHNS): Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader on Thursday said Anurag Tewari, the commissioner of the department, had not brought any scam in the department to his notice.

“He (Tewari) never mentioned about any scam in the department. He was also in charge of the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation. If there was any such scam, he would have brought it to my notice,” he said, on seeking his reaction to the statement by Tewari’s brother’s Mayank that the officer was about to expose a major scam.

Mayank had said honest officers were being targeted in Karnataka and suspected that his brother was one of the victims.

He claimed that Anurag was about to expose a scam worth over Rs 2,000 crore in the state. Anurag’s family members have been suspecting foul play.

Sources in the department said Tewari had not mentioned any major scam in any of the official correspondences with the government. He used to take leave very often, it is said.
