Mangaluru (The Hindu): Continuing their protest seeking the arrest of K.J. George, Minister for Bengaluru Development, in connection with the suicide of Deputy Superintendent of Police M.K. Ganapathy, BJP activists barged into the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP; Sanjeeva Matandoor, president, Dakshina Kannada unit of the BJP; and other leaders squatted in front of the entrance to the Deputy Commissioner’s office building. They shouted slogans against the Minister and the State government.

They sought the resignation of Mr. George and urged the police to book a case against him and two senior IPS officers named by the Dy.SP before his death.

Mr. Kateel said that the government should also arrest the IPS officers named by Ganapathy. If Chief Minister Siddaramaiah did not drop Mr. George from the Cabinet, the BJP would continue its agitation, he said.

The MP alleged that the Chief Minister was protecting Mr. George. They dispersed after the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar received a memorandum from Mr. Matandoor.
