Bypoll: Lobbying begins for Cong ticket

Bengaluru: Over half-a-dozen Congress leaders are said to be lobbying for the party ticket to contest the upcoming byelection to the Karnataka Legislative Council.

Prominent among the ticket aspirants are former minister Rani Satish, former legislator Nazeer Ahmed, G C Chandrashekar, Ramachandrappa, M S Basavaraju and Vinay Karthik. The bypoll has been necessitated due to the death of BJP MLC Vimala Gowda recently. The byelection is scheduled for August 31.
