Bengaluru (DHNS): Top rank holders in CET for homeopathy, agriculture and veterinary science are all keen on MBBS degrees and are anxiously waiting for the results of NEET.

Though she could now get easy entry to these courses, Rakshita is keen on securing a seat for M BS, preferably in the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute.

“I want to become a neurologist as I am interested in the human brain and its functioning. My grandmother passed away due to a stroke when I was six years old and there is an increase in stroke cases. So I want to do research in this field,” Rakshita said. She secured the 21st rank in engineering, but says if she does not get an MBBS seat, she wants to study Biology in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Rakshita got the 136th rank in the exam for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana fellowship of IISc.

“I wrote the CET just to practise for NEET and I am resting all my hopes on the exam. I considered pure science, but I am more inclined to clinical biology. So, I want to become a doctor,” he said. He secured 18th rank in CET (engineering), but wants to get into Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.

Victor V Thomas, who came first in CET?for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and second in CET?for ISM and Homeopathy, will not be pursuing these courses.
