Mysuru, (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Sunday that Ravishankar would be the party’s candidate for the KR Nagar seat in Assembly election. Ravishankar is the son of Doddaswamygowda, who was defeated in the constituency in the last election.

As soon as Siddaramaiah announced the name at a meeting here, supporters of former MLA, the late Manchanahalli Mahadev, started leaving the venue to express disappointment over the selection.

They were miffed that Ravishankar’s candidature was announced overlooking their demand that Mahadev’s daughter Aishwarya should be fielded from the constituency.

Siddaramaiah said Mahadev lost out in the race for the ticket in the last election because of a former MP (A H Vishwanath).
